Description
Can Am X3 Extended Capacity 15.4 Gallon Replacement Fuel Tank
This is what it looks like taking the X3 from 10.5 gallons to 15.4 gallons…… Every single factory panel is in place, unmodified, untouched. Not a single aftermarket bolt, strap, or screw is used. The factory fuel pump, fill neck, vent line are re-used, as well as a now more accurate reading OEM fuel gauge.
It's no secret that the Turbo X3 platform loves to drink fuel. Compound this with a tune adding more boost, or even E-85, and your MPG's are thrown out the window. RPM's precisely engineered, rotomolded, OEM replacement tank takes your fuel capacity from a measly 10.5 gallons to 15.4 gallons without losing ANY dash pieces, no lost glovebox, and no re-routing factory features. You still have access to your lower center console for mounting coms and other accessories below the start button. This is a hassle free, clean installation that utilizes the factory fuel pump, breather line, factory tank straps, fill cap, seal, and factory fuel pump. The factory fuel pump sensor still reads true and more accurately leaving your MPG worries in the dust. Tested and proven in Baja in not only the craziest of terrain & by the toughest racers also. Constructed from 6mm thick ethanol safe RotoMolded plastic, the RPM tank is drastically stronger than even the factory tank. A factory style roll over one way valve is secured with a 6061 billet retention block.
Fits All Years X3 2-Seat & Max Models
Extends Capacity from 10.5 to 15.4 Gallons
Includes 1 Way Rollover Vent & 6061 Billet Retention Plate
So far I’m happy with it. It’s a tight fit getting it installed, but that’s to be expected since they had to use up negative space to carry more fuel. Flies pump assembly installed perfectly and threads matched. You will need to remove your windshield to access the screws on the dash, and if you have a rats nest of wires behind your dash feeding your rocker switches, that might fight you a bit. But if this were being installed in a bone stock machine the install would be ridiculously easy. Lastly, before removing my old fuel tank I siphoned out roughly 4 gallons, which I then put into the new tank before driving to the gas station where I filled up 11.5 gallons, which is all the way to the top. So I’d say the 15.4 gallon claim seems accurate.
