This is an absolute MUST-HAVE reliability and performance upgrade for stock, tuned, and heavily modified Polaris machines alike. The factory rubber intake tube (OEM #1241537) is notoriously thin, weak, and prone to severe heat-induced collapse. As under-hood and ambient temperatures rise during hard riding, the soft stock tube sucks inward on itself, severely choking off airflow and starving your engine right when you need power most.
The RPM SXS "Big Fatty" fixes this major design flaw permanently. Crafted with 6 plies of heat-resistant Nomex-reinforced silicone totaling an ultra-thick 7mm, this tube simply DOES NOT collapse under extreme engine heat or intense turbo suction. We completely eliminated the restrictive factory molding near the rear shock, enlarging the internal diameter as much as physically possible to deliver maximum, turbulence-free intake air volume straight to your airbox. Fit and finish is perfect!! Tucks in behind everything perfectly and definitely improves on intake airflow. The restrictive factory intake tube chokes these engines where the RPM intake frees up that flow with a smooth design and plenty of room for the air to flow in!! Highly recommend making this upgrade!!
Quality of tube is great just like the other hoses I have from RPM. Was just not happy to see it runs into the shock. Which I'm sure over time will wear through the silicone. Time will tell though.
Replaced the original 2020 Pro XP intake hose. I saw myself just what happens when the OEM intake hose collapses, total stall out happens.
This Big Fatty will never collapse.
Huge improvement over the factory intake. Definitely built well. Snug fit with my aftermarket springs but a zip tie to hold it back will do the trick. If you haven’t upgraded your stock, this is your answer!
